Hi, I’m Tim Wittig. Welcome to my newsletter, Global Sync.
Geopolitics Made Simple
Global Sync is a newsletter on geopolitics, made simple.
Every week I share a list of 5 things I think are worth knowing about geopolitics and the profound transformations happening in our world that effect us all everyday.
Subscribers also receive occasional longer format essays that expand on especially interesting topics or big ideas.
I decided to write Global Sync to fill a gap in useful, digestible information on geopolitics, which increasingly impacting decision making in business, government, finance, and even people’s everyday lives. And to create a platform to share thoughts and lessons learned from my research and career.
My objective with the newsletter is to provide readers durable and actionable knowledge about Geopolitics in an easily digestible format.
I do this by with a focus on:
Hidden Risks in trends or actors that are fragile and unsustainable and will eventually collapse, blow up, or be forced to change.
Asymmetries of geopolitical significance and other tension points in power, information, or capability.
Heuristics, frameworks, ‘power laws,’ and mental/analytic models that can be used to help decision making and develop strategy.
Recommendations on what to read, watch, and listen to in order to build up your own capacity to understand geopolitics on your own terms and for your own purposes.
Anything else I find worth sharing, including items to remind us that, in spite of everything, we live in an amazingly diverse and wondrous world.
About the Author
I’m a writer, scholar-practitioner, and former intelligence professional who’s spent much of the last 20 years on the frontlines of what I write about here.
I started this newsletter to contribute to the debate on where we go next as citizens and humans. To help make sense of the world and what I’ve observed and experienced during my research and career. And to share knowledge and ideas to help people navigate the risks and seize the opportunities that lie in our future.
